Audubon International Certification
John Prince Golf Learning Center is proud to participate in the Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ACSP) for golf courses and is committed to environmental stewardship. The ACSP is an award winning education and certification program that helps golf courses protect the environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf. The ACSP helps golf courses and their golfers enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide, improve efficiency, minimize potentially harmful impacts of golf operations, and serves as vital resource for golf courses.
By implementing and documenting a full complement of environmental management practices, a course earns designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Some areas addressed by the ACSP are:
- Environmental planning
- Wildlife and habitat management
- Chemical use, reduction and safety
- Water conservation
- Water quality management
- Outreach and education
Receiving certification demonstrates leadership as a steward of the environment and publicly recognizes and rewards environmental achievements. The ACSP's goal is to encourage golf courses to be environmental stewards and to certify golf courses that meet or exceed stringent ACSP environmental requirements
John Prince became the 108th golf course in the State of Florida and the 1,018th in the world to earn ACSP certification when it was originally certified in September of 2013. Chemical use, reduction and safety, environmental planning, outreach and education programs, water conservation, water quality management as well as wildlife and habitat management are just some of the activities we have undertaken to achieve and maintain our certification.
Birdhouses, butterfly gardens, and natural areas are some of the visible signs of designed wildlife habitats you will see throughout our golf course. These wildlife and habitat management areas are intended to attract and preserve wildlife.
Please join us in conserving our open spaces and maintaining wildlife habitats during your visit to our facility.
